Things to do in Canvey Island

The island was mainly agricultural land until the 20th century after that Canvey Island became the fastest growing seaside resort in Britain between 1911 and 1951. Now the Island is home to lovely seafronts and great tourist attractions such as arcades, cinema’s, theme parks and even a museum. It’s hard to get bored on Canvey Island with such a variety of things to do and activities to take part in. Away from all of the attraction’s, Canvey Island is home to some lovely views and wonderful landscapes, If this is more your thing then why not take a long walk through West Canvey marshes and see what you can find.

Canvey Island has an abundance of shops and stores that will keep you busy. There is a huge range of different kinds of outlets here from fishing and leisurely shops like camping, to shoe shops and bike stores. You won’t have a problem finding what you’re looking for here. There are also plenty of privately owned boutiques and gift shops that have all kinds of different and distinctive bits and bobs and souvenirs. You never know what you’re going to find.

Canvey Island is home to some wonderful Restaurants, some really fine dining with the most spectacular views and settings overlooking the sea. But if fine dining isn’t your thing then don’t worry because Canvey Island has everything you could ask for! Seafood caught fresh and served to your plate. Some people would argue that it’s the best fish and chips around! All kinds of cuisines and takeaways from Chinese and Indian to Greek and Italian. Canvey Island will have you spoilt for choice.
